Vlad Shalaev

Vladimir Shalaev is the Russian and American scientist. Pioneer in the field of transformation optics, metamaterials, nanophotonics and plasmonics. In 1990-1991 he worked at the University of Heidelberg, in 1991-1993 – at the University of Toronto. Since 2001, Robert and Anne Burnett Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Purdue University (Indiana, USA). Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS), fellow of the Optical Society of America (OSA), fellow of The International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE). Scientific Director of Nanophotonics at Birck Nanotechnology Center, Purdue University.
